  • I made the GPU more efficient via workload analysis, simulation, and intuition.
  • Designed several GPU features spanning Raster and ROP.
  • Lead designer of the Pascal GPU memory compression algorithm.
  • SLI (multi-GPU) design lead.
  • Created several tools (still in wide use, 5 years later): a performance counter waveform viewer and a register programming tool.
2012 - 2014
Satellite Designer / Founding Member at SkyCube.org

SkyCube was a crowd-funded satellite. Skycube was delivered on the ORB-1 rocket to the ISS from where it deployed in February 2014. It's mission was to capture low-latency earth images, broadcast personalized messages and towards the end of its mission - inflate a balloon to make itself visible and de-orbit cleanly. My roles:

  • I designed the main board containing the CPU, flash, RTC, I/O, power electronics.
  • I designed the solar panel systems (using Spectrolab's TASC).
  • Full system debug and assembly.

Hobbies:

  • Building electronic gadgets (synthesizers, light effects, satellites).
  • Sound synthesis, sound reproduction, making speakers.
  • Playing piano and guitar in my band. I like synth solos and occasionally compose music.
  • Mountain biking and snowboarding.
